Through many valuable experiences in my teaching at Somerville and at the Trenton Children's Chorus, I am fortunate to encounter situations during which my skills are challenged daily, and as a result honed. While growth is celebrated along the way, my horizons continue to broaden as I welcome new opportunities to better myself and my craft. The Philosophy that adopted previously and continue to develop is one that I am confident serves the communities with which I interact in a positive way.
How has my Philosophy changed?
Mobile Teaching has become a second nature practice for me and for other dedicated educators as well. While the philosophical objective of Mobile Teaching at its birth was about generating opportunity for students where it may not otherwise occur, It has now become a way of life. My perception now is similar, but no longer exclusive to helping students where they are physically. Creating opportunity through willingness and dedication to understand the needs of students is now my focus. It can be summarized as follows:
Each student has potential. I aim to find that potential. Then acknowledge it, understand it, develop it, and provide and environment where the student can thrive.
